Ingredients:
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 Tbsp mustard
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup of brown sugar
2 cups of diced carrots
2 cups of diced onions
2 pounds of steak cut into chunks
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp paprika
Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper
Preparation:
Heat about three tablespoons of oil in a Dutch oven. Add steak chunks and brown. Add all of the remaining ingredients into the Dutch oven. Stir well. Place the lid on top of the Dutch oven and place it among the hot coals from the campfire. Cook for four hours before serving with bread.
Ingredients:
3 large cans of beef stew
2 cans of biscuits
Non-stick cooking spray
Preparation:
Spray your Dutch oven with non-stick cooking spray, and pour in three cans of beef stew. Top your stew with biscuits. Place the pan among hot coals and cook until your biscuits are flaky and golden brown.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
1 clove of finely chopped garlic
1 package of sliced, boneless pork tenderloin
Preparation:
Pour BBQ sauce into a container that has a lid. Stir in the garlic, and add the tenderloin. Place the lid on top of the container and allow the meat to marinate inside a cooler all day. When its time to cook, you can put the meat in a Dutch oven and cook in a campfire or grill the meat on a grate. If you opt for the latter, use a brush to baste the meat with the BBQ marinade. Serve with potato salad, cold baked beans, and bread.
Ingredients:
Large tortillas
Shredded pepper jack cheese
Chopped meat—your choice of sausage, turkey, chicken, beef, shrimp
Olive oil
Preparation:
Brush both sides of the tortillas with olive oil, and place them directly onto the grill. Cook for approximately three minutes per side before removing from the grill. Add cheese and meat. Roll the tortillas up like a burrito and place them back on the grill until the cheese inside the tortillas has melted. Serve these meaty quesadillas with a small salad and a side of black beans or pintos.
