Easy Snack Recipes for Campers

Blueberry Cake

Ingredients:
1 cup of chopped pecans
1 cup of melted butter
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 yellow cake mix
3 cups blueberries
3/4 c sugar

Preparation:
In a Dutch oven melt half of the butter. Add blueberries and the can of pineapple, which shouldn’t be drained. Pour sugar and a yellow cake mix over the berries making sure all are covered. Place lid on the Dutch oven and cook for one hour over the fire.

Yummy Campfire Wraps

Ingredients:
Tortillas
1 bag of chocolate chips
1 bag of mini-marshmallows
1 jar of creamy peanut butter

Preparation:
Spread peanut butter on each tortilla. Top the peanut butter with chocolate chips and mini-marshmallows. Roll up each tortilla like a cigar and then wrap them together in foil. Place over the campfire or on the grill for 10-15 minutes. Eat the yummy campfire wraps just like you would a banana.

Chocolate Candy Pie

Ingredients:
Cool Whip
Extra large chocolate bar
1 graham cracker crust

Preparation:
Cut off ¼ of the chocolate bar and set aside. Take the remaining bar and put it into a pot. Melt it over a fire. Dump the cool whip out into a bowl. Pour the melted chocolate into the cool whip and combine. Pour the mixture into your graham cracker crust. Set the pie on top of the ice in a cooler for two hours. Garnish with grated chocolate and serve.

Camper’s Cobbler

Ingredients:
3 cans of your favorite fruit pie filling
2 cans of layer biscuits
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
Non-stick cooking spray

Preparation:
Spray your Dutch oven with non-stick cooking spray, and pour in the fruit pie filling. Separate the biscuits in two based on their natural breaking point. Top the fruit with the biscuits. Sprinkle the biscuits with cinnamon and brown sugar. Place the lid on the Dutch oven and set in the hot fire coals. Use a small shovel and pull hot coals up and around the Dutch oven. Cook for 15 minutes. Your biscuits should be flaky and brown.
