People who have grown up protected from every possible danger seem to think that the animals they see in the wild are perfectly safe to approach and even feed.  There&#039;s a saying among campers that &quot;a fed bear is a dead bear&quot;.  People foolish enough to leave food out for wild bears are doing the poor bears a real disservice, as these animals will become habituated and bold, and will have to be relocated or put down eventually.  Wildlife needs to be respected and not teased, harassed or approached.  This is THEIR turf, and campers are just visiting.  Protect their habitat, observe them at a safe distance, and keep your food to yourself. Bears are quite capable of finding their own.</description>
