Our room was a suite just off the main house. It had a queen four poster bed with rope canopy. A reading lamp was located on the headboard. We had an alarm clock, telephone (Cindy grins again!), candles and nightstands with lamps. There was a 5-drawer dresser and 16 shelves of books! There were wine and champagne glasses and a pager on the dresser.

The pager was another first we have encountered. This was a really nice idea! Guests can take the pager along with them as they tour this historic town and still be available to friends and family who may need to contact them during their visit. They simply give the pager number to their loved ones, await their page and then return the call. It also frees up the Inn from having to find a guest in case of an emergency.
Another first was the TV House.....each room had a house to match its decor. Upon opening the house by lifting the front and roof, the TV was exposed and the remote control was ready.

In front of the fireplace were a sofa, chair with ottoman and coffee table. This is where I sat downloading pictures, enjoying the fire....and nodding off after a day of touring Colonial Williamsburg. Behind the sofa was a day bed, making this a great family room. Cindy was happily downloadng her email as the fire crackled away.
The bathroom had an entry way with 5 shelves on the right with a hair dryer, iron and butler's basket. To the left was a closet with a refrigerator, ironing board and hangers. The bathroom proper had a tub/shower combination with a filled soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser.

Breakfast the next morning was served in the enclosed breezeway between the main house and our room. Apples were everywhere of course! We started with baked bananas, coffee, tea and orange juice. Next came waffles with butter and syrup and bacon.....a great start to the day. As we dined, we chatted with Bill about the area and he signed our travel book for us. He gave us directions to our next location and we hit the road.
Great stop for your visit to Williamsburg! Be sure to check out the Applewood Colonial Bed & Breakfast, make your reservations and tell them Cruising America said Hi!
