While on the Long Beach Peninsula for a couple of days, our host Curt Stephens, owner of Ocean Park RV Resort told us we'd be missing the flavor of the area if we didn't dine at The Ark. So we convinced him and his lovely wife, Karen, into joining us. We made the short drive to Willapa Bay and a great night of dining. Our corner table sat over the bay and as it drizzled outside, we watched the oyster boats return with their catches.
Don, our waiter for the evening, was right to the table with water and to take our drink orders. After a short time to think over our choices, I started things off with Baked Oysters Italian, on the half shell, topped with garlic butter, seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. Curt and Karen shared their Sauteed Fiddlehead Ferns with me. You gotta order them when you go! Cindy explained about out travels and business as I took pictures of the restaurant.
For our entrees, I had the New York steak, smothered in red onions, garlic and basil and served with organic potatoes and vegtables . Cindy decided to eat seafood! She had the fish and chips. While we waited, we enjoyed Italian Herb Rolls. The food was fresh, hot and looked as great as it tasted. Curt had hit it right on the head. We were glad this moment had not been lost.
But then to make things even better, Don showed up with the "dessert tray". Oh my!!!

Cindy decided on the Lemon Cheesecake. I took the Bread Pudding with berry topping and whipped cream.
Karen and Cindy had coffee afterwards while Curt got us up to speed on the activities that the Peninsula sponsors and planned the tour for the next day. Curt is the local Chamber President and was very informative. When you check out The Ark, reservations are recommended ....and be sure to tell them Cruising America says HI!
