Destiny RV Resort
Denton (Dallas), Texas
| True to our expectations, things were getting ship-shape when we arrived. The biggest change since our review last year was the completion of the new meeting hall, complete with kitchen, and the prep work for the outside pavillion area. We had originally met Manager Randy at the Secret Lake Resort. That resort has been sold by Destiny and Randy now manages the Denton location. It was great to meet up with him again! | |
The downstairs offices and visitors/registration areas were about to get the 'ol Randy treatment. "I've got my hammer in hand", said Randy as he arrived to take us on a tour. He smiled as he led us around the park and you could tell he really enjoys his work. He showed us to Site # 9. He showed us how much improvment there was around the pool and I was amazed how sparkling it was, this late in the summer. The people sure were having fun trying to beat off some of the record breaking heat.

The car wash located at the front of the property had a steady flow of trucks and campers taking advantage of this campground amenity. More parks should consider this as a possibility, especially those close to the freeway systems.
The leaves created a shade break for the campers. Many campers we talked with said they had decided to stay here this winter, instead of going further south as usual. They sited Randy's approach to management in the resort and how he empowers his employees, making them part of the resort instead of just another employee.

 | I took photos while Cindy made some calls and prepared dinner and Lexxus checked out our beautiful, grassy site. It was another great evening in Texas. |
This and all the Destiny Resorts are winners!
