Destiny's Dallas RV Resort
Arriving in the afternoon in Dallas, the first thing we were impressed with was a public car wash at the entryway of the resort. It is open to the public and was always being used. It had a ladder system on each side of the stalls that allowed truckers and RVers to easily clean the top of their vehicles. And because it is just off the interstate, it does a steady business.
This park has just finished completely renovating the office and registration, recreation and store buildings. Destiny Dallas is the newest addition to the Destiny chain and is landscaped nicely with large shade trees and large sites. The sites were all level and widely spaced. Conveniently located right off the Interstate, we were surprised at how little "highway" noise we actually heard.
It was a very quiet park and stayed so until the New Year's activities in the surrounding areas began to crank up. We stayed "at home" and celebrated the entrance of the new millennium along with the TV!
Laundry facilities were available and all of the machines were in working order. There was a horseshoe area. Basketball and volleyball equipment was also there. There were cabins that sleep six and a separate tent camping area. Destiny is in has added cable TV and phone lines to all their sites, as well as an additional bath house. There is also high speed wireless available throughout the park!
The park was almost full and we were glad they still had a spot for us. Squirrels and birds were everywhere and made for some great photos. People were out and enjoying the nice weather. Many folks were filling up their LP tanks just in case Y2K created any problems the next day!
