Destiny's Riviera RV Resort
Blythe, California

It had been years since spending any time at the Colorado River in California. I was glad to be back. Riviera is at the Caliornia/Arizona border and is at the first exit (Riviera) after entering California. This park actually takes care of two entirely different groups of people. During the winter, residents and overnighters are the mainstayers. During the spring and summer, boaters and water enthusiasts dominate the majority of the park. With a promise to return and do a summer review, we started our winter one. AND Rivier is only 20 minutes from world-famous Quartzsite!

The Colorado River affords so much more to a park like Riviera. During the winter, people enjoy the tranquility and low river to fish. During the summer, when more water is in the river to accommmodate the farmers, that depend on the river for agriculture along the Colorado, it helps the recreational water people feel the excitement. They pack the river with boats, jetskis and themselves. There are also lagoons for swimming. Sunworshipers love the Colorado. And anyone that's been here knows why. It is the perfect vacation destination.

We were taken to our waterfront site. The park was half full and everyone was so nice. The heated pool and spa made my stay so much better. Cindy liked the shade trees and worked outside without even putting the awning up. Cable TV was nice to have again too. I went about doing my picture thing. The biggest thing I noticed was how clean the park was and that the residents all smiled and seemed outward going towards strangers. That's the main thing I like about RVing in general.

There is nearby golfing and shopping in Blythe. The town of Blythe has grown a lot since I last passed this way. And the Riviera Resort is growing as well. Plans are under way for many improvements. Dave, the manager, was excited about the opportunity that is unfolding at Riviera and manages the McIntyre Park as well and does a great job. He constantly promotes the park.
