Schroon Lake, New York
"A Family Tradition in Schroon Lake" - Triple A approved with a 2 Diamond rating!
 | Now in their 24th year, Tony and Margo Bartolomeo operate the Motel and Restaurant from Memorial Day to Columbus Day each year. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily during the season in the Dining Room, Solarium or on the Outdoor Patio. |
The Bartolomeo's daughter, Gail, seated us in the Solarium and introduced us to Josh, our waiter. The dinner menu features Italian specialties and Seafood as well as traditional favorites. Of course, I went with Italian and Mike went with the steak (doesn't he ever get tired or steak???)
| But first, the appetizers! Mike had the shrimp cocktail and said it was fantastic, full shrimp with lots of meat...he was in heaven. I had the fried ravioli - it was great and had some wicked pepper in it! Next came salads and fresh rolls. | |
Then the main course! Mike's was Black Angus New York Strip steak with sauteed mushrooms and a side dish of zucchini, onions, salsa, garlic and tomatoes. My choice was jumbo stuffed shells in a marinara sauce. Perfect! For dessert there was strawberry shortcake for Mike and....what else?.....cannoli for me. Wonderful!

As we savored our meal, the room filled and we loved the laughter of other guests as they enjoyed their meals and commented on how good the food was. There was a birthday party in the main dining room and everyone joined in on the Birthday Song.
Thank goodness we came early, the place was full by 7 pm!

The dress was casual and the service excellent.....my coffee and Mike's tea was never empty. The chef, Andy, and the staff always make sure that not only is the food delicious, but has a wonderful presentation. When you stop by for dinner, be sure to make reservations if at all possible!
