Eagles Peak Family Campground
Robesonia, Pennsylvania

We don't usually stay two days in one place but our schedule allowed us to and we couldn't have picked a better place to do it. When we arrived at the campground it was alive with people doing all kinds of activities, laughing and having fun. It didn't change the whole time we were there. People were going everywhere, and even with the place packed, it was comfortable and everyone was as nice as could be. It was Father's Day weekend, but with this many people having this much fun, we knew that our hosts, Pete & Sue Frederick, were pros at this and it would be a great weekend.

Check in was handled quickly and after being let in at the manned gate, we were led by a golf cart to our site at Number 201. We had a great size lot and it was under the trees. We set up the awning, carpet and lawn chairs and decided on burgers for lunch. Mike took off again, after eating, to "get them pictures". Cindy started on some overdue email answers. No phone at the site was okay because it was only a short walk to the office and a quick uplink.

Mike selected and ordered a movie to appear on the campground TV channel at 8PM (this is the first time we've seen this service offered) and downloaded pictures he'd taken around the park while he watched it. With swimming pool, game room, pond for fishing, walking trails, miniature golf, basketball courts, hopscotch, horseshoes, shuffleboard, jungle gym bars, swings, pavilion and a general store brimming, he took about 600 photos the first day. And all the activities planned for the next day surely would keep him busy.

We awoke the next morning to kids being carried around the park, in hayride fashion, in a tractor pulled cart. They laughed and had a great time as the cart went all over the park many times. Afterward, in honor of Father's Day, there was an egg rolling contest for the kids and adults, an egg toss contest with the kids on one side and the adults on the other (probably the best contest), a softball game, bar-b-q chicken cookout and bingo... what a day!!!

Located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Eagles Peak Campground is surrounded by thousands of wooded wilderness acres, yet is only minutes to major highways, outlet shopping and numerous tourist attractions. There are over 300 sites ranging from secluded tent areas to full service sites. Weekend activities are planned throughout the season and we were pleasantly surprised to see that all the kids -- even the teenagers! -- seemed to be having a great time at the park!

The next time you are planning a family outing in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, try this great campground! Visit their: Website and when you make YOUR reservations, be sure to tell them Cruising America said Hi!
