Laura greeted us at the door before we could push the bell. It was Laura who had initially contacted us to come to the Prince George area for the weekend. She had contacted Julie at Griffiths on Gilbert Bed & Breakfast and from there, the tour had grown.
Wilf was right behind her with a big smile and trying to apologize for the rain that had just started again. They showed us to the living room and we talked about the fabulous weekend we'd had. They told us of their weekend fishing adventure at their cabin retreat and Wilf took us to the kitchen to show us his catch.
He had to go to the bus station to pick up Jack, their grandson and his fishing buddy. I stayed up to take pictures of Jack and then joined Cindy upstairs in our room. It was great!

There was a queen bed, TV and night stand. There were fresh flowers and just down the hall was a common area with a phone. The bathroom was huge, boasting a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower with double shower heads. A butler's basket with everything you need was available and a door which opened into the rooftop garden and private balcony. The garden had chairs and a table and hundreds of gorgeous flowers. Cindy was in heaven.
The next morning, another great breakfast! We started with cranberry juice and coffee and a fruit plate with cantaloupe, strawberries, Bing cherries and orange slices. This was followed by the main course of crustless ham and Swiss quiche and fresh hot toast. The final course brought piping hot cinnamon rolls. Just a few more pounds added!

Wilf took me to his garage, where he has a 1932 DeSoto with a rumble seat in back. He also showed me a hope chest he was making for a recent graduate. From rough wood to finished product, you could see the painstaking hours it took to get this kind of workmanship. I knew he must be a heck of a fisherman because only a person with great patience could do this detailed work.

We met Pat, Laura's mother, who quite often takes care of the B&B during their absence. I commented to her about her great artwork that is featured around the home. She was working on her family tree. Talent must run in the family because Laura had decorated the home perfectly and certainly made us feel part of the family. She will make you welcome as well, so visit their Website, book several days and be sure to tell Laura and Wilf that Cruising America said Hi!
Thanks for a great weekend in Prince George!
