Fairbanks
After staying at a local campground for a few days, it was nice to get back to a B&B and be pampered.

Mike met us at the door as we arrived and took us on a tour of the inn. Then, we went to the living room and talked about how we started Cruising America. Mike had been a travel guide/writer himself and found our whole experience fascinating. You could tell he was a people person. He is perfect for this industry.
 | The inn has 3 rooms upstairs and two single rooms plus a large family style room downstairs. He gave us Room #4, which was outside and downstairs. It worked out perfectly for Cindy and allowed me to be able to give Lexxus needed breaks from the motorhome without us disturbing the other guests. Our room had a queen bed, TV, a chest of drawers full of thick, hand quilted blankets, a refrigerator, microwave, fan, radio alarm clock and also had a ceiling fan. There was an adjoining private bath with shower. It had a great shower head with plenty of hot water and lots of water pressure. We ate pizza in the motorhome for dinner and worked on the reviews. Then we turned in for a great night's sleep. |
Stella greeted us the next morning as we arrived for breakfast. We had coffee and tea, grapes, strawberries, and cantaloupe to start, along with blueberry muffins, croissants and yogurt. As we enjoyed this course, Stella prepared French toast with hot syrup and sausages.

During breakfast, we talked with Mike and Stella about how we had met and the plans we had for Cruising America. As we left, Mike gave us photos of the aurora borealis to mark our visit. We have posted these photos on our photos of the day
This inn is open year round and caters to many return guests. Around the home are many gifts and artwork presented to them by their repeat guests. With Mike's background in the travel industry, he speaks fairly fluent Japanese and hosts many travelers to the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. He is an instructor at the university and Stella (who formerly owned a day care center) is working on her degree in Special Education. These are busy folks, who love sharing their time and their home with the guests.

Contact them at their website, Eleanor's Northern Lights Bed & Breakfast, book your reservations and be sure to tell them that Cruising America made the recommendation!
