A Lynn Canyon House Bed & Breakfast
Vancouver, British Columbia

Josie greeted us at the front doors and took us immediately to a table on the back porch. Beverages, cookies and cranberry lemon cake w/blueberries & whipped cream were in front of us in no time and we were meeting the other guests. I couldn't help but look around and smile. Cindy had described this picture to perfection. Being from just outside Pittsburgh, she knew how a home with an Italian mother would be. I knew we were in for another fantastic stay.

Joe, Josie's husband and best friend, joined us on the back porch. We told them of our travels as they told us about theirs. I envy them...they are able to enjoy cruises (something I can't do with my motion sensitivity!). Their son, Michael came by to tell Dad to have a great Father's Day and visit with Mom. He was a sharp kid and was very impressive. "He reassured me about today's youth."
(I always wanted to write that.)

Josie took us to our room and then showed us around the inn. It had a natural feel of home and yet had elegance everywhere you looked. Then she became a tourism director for all of Vancouver. She should be truly honored as a "Gem" in the area. She gave us around 50 brochures about things city-wide. Then she met Lexxus and took the three of us on a tour of Lynn Canyon Park, right beside her home and the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. Just moments from our perfect bedroom was all the beauty and serenity possible.....and right in the middle of town! A stroll through the woods and we were right on the bridge. Josie hopped out to the middle of the bridge. I went out on it just a little and took some more photos.

We went back home, where Josie presented us with a coupon to dine at Bueno Sera in the Ross Plaza just off Lynn Canyon Road. Our host at the Italian restaurant was Paulo. He kept us in stitches as he ad-libbed Italian music, dancing around the restaurant and thoroughly enjoying his life's work. The food was just what we wanted and there was no charge for the entertainment. Cindy still couldn't get her canoli, so she settled for Tira misu (poor thing...she moaned the whole time). It was embarrassing. I had just made similar sounds over the teriyaki steak.

Back at the Inn, we found a dish of chocolates waiting for us and chocolate covered strawberries... ummmm. What a great way to end the day! Our room had a queen size bed, side table and chairs, dresser and private bath with shower and everything we could possibly need.

We fell right to sleep. And awoke to tea and coffee outside the door. We soon joined the other guests, from Montreal, Canada for breakfast.

Ah.....and what a breakfast it was! True to her nature, Josie served up a feast fit for a king.....or an Italian/Armenian family! We started with fresh blueberries, raspberries & yogurt, coffee, tea and orange juice. Next came sunny fiesta fruit with orange liquor, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and grapes. Then she came out with "Sausage in a Cloud", a Yorkshire pudding with sausages, potato cakes and fitatta, served up with hot croissants, English muffins and homemade strawberry jam. It was fabulous! As Josie entered the kitchen, I could only hope it was not for another course!
And the local "folks" were patiently waiting their turn.....
they, too, knew what to expect
from this wonderful, warm home!

Leaving was like leaving home again!
It's funny how you get so close to people so fast... ah Canadians....we just love this place!

You gotta check out this Website, book another week or two in Vancouver
and tell them Cruising America will be back!
