Heritage Manor
On this 80 acres, the Rexroat's have taken two mansion style homes from 1903 and 1906, and brought them together to form Heritage Manor. Landscaped with natural flowers and shrubs, they then planted 18,000 trees.
As we arrived, following A.J. and Carolyn onto the property, you couldn't help but notice the entryway to the home. It looked like the driveway to the big house on the show "Dallas". Weddings, prom dinners, anniversaries, get-togethers and reunions just start the lists of people that have visited the Manor. They are a showcase in Aline. They are located just down from the Sod House Museum, just outside the city of Aline and are private enough for any gathering. This is Victorian splendor at it's best!
Our room had TV and Dish satellite, queen size bed, telephone, sofa and rocking chair. Our private bath boasted a claw foot bath tub and wonderful decorations. They let us plug in the motorhome to protect Lexxus from the current heat wave. On top of the home is a large hot tub, canopied sitting areas and a great area at the top for sunbathing. You get to the roof by crossing a suspension bridge that goes over a solarium, full of plants. There is a library with thousands of books and tributes to past presidents. Also a large screen TV with lounge chair await you.
The Rexroat's took us in for 4 nights and every day they fed us great meals. A.J. did most of the cooking and Carolyn was the perfect hostess. We would just get ready to eat and we would have to select the next meal. Their dinner menus are listed on their website, so be sure to check out some of the great food we had! They also took care of snacks at the meetings at the Manor. Cindy tried her best to convince them that they should adopt us!
During our stay, A.J. took us to visit the animals on the farm. We met Rex, the long-horn steer. A.J. prompted me to "climb-aboard". I thought for a moment that it would look real good here in this review. I looked at those 5 1/2 ft long horns, I thought of all those great breakfasts atop the 2000 lb steer and I decided to stay on this side of the fence.
There were ostriches, pot-bellied pigs, llamas, miniture horses and mules. And then there were paths through the trees. They are the perfect peaceful getaway from everything. I took a short walk and felt much better. These trees make this a small oasis in the desert. They cool a large area and allow other growth.
This is our second review that we have done over a weeks time. Again it was like leaving home. We can not thank our hosts and new found friends enough for the way we were taken care of. Hats off to Heritage Manor B&B, A.J. & Carolyn, and Red Carpet Country in Northern Oklahoma!
During the week we had alot of seminars scheduled. This was all done ahead of time for us by A.J. as a way to help his area of the country better promote their businesses on the Internet. He has plans to bring us back to the area, so keep checking back. He's full of surprises.
For a great stay in OK
