Oceansong Pacific Grill
Gualala, California

Oceansong Pacific Grill is the first business on your left as you enter Mendocino County along Hwy 1 from the south. Featuring a spectacular ocean view, patio dining and fresh food with great presentation, it is truly a gem of Gualala.

Swiss-born General Manager, René Fueg is also head chef. He makes you feel at home and then goes to the kitchen and performs his magic.

Jan Harris, of Adventure Rents had arranged for this surprise review for us at lunchtime and we had a really great meal! The atmosphere is casual, but the food is definitely gourmet...even at lunchtime. The dinner menu looked mouthwatering as well!

Before Barbara could take our orders, she set Won Ton Prawns with salsa in front of us, courtesy of the house. Mike and Jan enjoyed them (I passed on the fish, as usual!). Jan ordered the Ahi Tuna Sandwich, Mike went for the Fish and Chips and I ordered the Oceanburger with Fries. As Jan and I talked about the local Chamber and its efforts to promote Gualala, Mike was off taking photos around the restaurant and talking with some of the locals about his camera. (It never fails that foks are amazed at the quality of the photos and the ease of use of our Sony Mavicas).

The Ahi Tuna is a dish that Jan orders often when she visits Oceansong, so that is recommendation in itself. Mike didn't do much talking during his meal, which always means he is enjoying. As for my hamburger.....I can say without qualification that is was the best cheeseburger I have ever had! I like my burgers well done and this one was well done throughout....and still not burnt outside. It was great!

When you happen this way in your travels along California's Hwy 1, be sure to stop at Oceansong Pacific Grill and tell René and all the folks there that Cruising America said HI!
