Ric's Grill

Co-owners Steve Matthews and Ric Cormier invited us to review one of their 4 restaurants and from the line waiting to get it, we were glad we had chosen to dine early.

Four lovely young ladies greeted us as we entered. They let Steve know we had arrived and he seated us in a booth. He explained that Ric was away on business, but was glad we had made our way here for the review. He brought us menus and introduced our waitress, Tamara. He did this for everyone and was very friendly and enthusiastic about his business.

While enjoying our beverages, Cheryl, director of Tourism for Prince George, and Scott, joined us. We ordered our meals. We started off with hot bread and house salads. I had the Sirloin with mushrooms & onions. It was grilled to perfection and accompanied by potatoes, and wedges of cantaloupe, honeydew melon and watermelon. Cindy orderd the Garlic Sirloin, served with red peppers and asparagus and wild rice. I passed on dessert but Cindy opted for the chocolate cake with hot butterscotch sauce. Altogether a fantastic meal!

As we waited for our meal to be served, Cheryl continued to tell us about Prince George and all it had to offer. Scott, who works in forestry, told us about how Canada has made laws that all trees cut must be replaced. He also promised that as we headed north to Alaska, I would see the bears in the wild that I have been looking for (the next day proved him right as I spotted my first grizzly in the wild!).

After dinner, we headed for our night's stay at Laura's Roof Top Garden B&B.

When in Prince George, make sure to stop by and see Steve and Ric.....and tell them we said Hi! But, you may want to make reservations in advance....by the time we were finished with our dinner, the restaurant was full to capacity, and nothing says more for a place than the fact that the local residents will stand in line for a meal!
