Soundview Bed & Breakfast
We visited with Gerry and talked about our travels and hers, as she and Dick had just returned from a 21 day cruise. We also talked about how the internet was helping the B&B industry. A short while later, we met Dick, who was just coming home from his construction business and enjoyed talking with him.
Our bedroom had a King-sized feather bed with down comforter, chocolates on our six pillows, a closet full of VCR tapes and loads of books. There was an alarm clock and bathrobes in the closet. The bath had a large shower, extra towels and all the amenities you could imagine....even a first aid kit in the cabinet!
Mike downloaded his pictures for the day and watched two of the four movies he picked from the closet. I fixed us hot chocolate to take the chill off the evening, then showered and drifted off while reading the latest novel I had purchased. I awoke a short while later and joined Mike for the finish of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible. Then we headed to sleep and it was a great night's rest on a great bed. I told Gerry in the morning that we'd just move the bed to the motorhome before we left (would be nice if it would fit!). She just laughed.
The kitchen was fully equipped for a great stay, with all the dishes, silverware, linen and appliances you might need...even a dishwasher! The refrigerator was stocked with sodas, juices, jams and milk. The cupboards offered coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold cereal, oatmeal and there were fresh homemade cookies on the countertop.
The next morning, as I was on the deck enjoying my coffee, Dick greeted me with the newspaper before he left for work. I enjoyed the view and the rare treat of a morning newspaper until it was time to awaken Mike for breakfast. Soon afterward, Gerry delivered breakfast from the main house. We were treated to waffles with strawberries and whipped cream along with bacon, juice and coffee. A great start to the day!
Too soon, it was time for us to leave. But, what a fabulous place to spend a romantic week, a honeymoon or just an escape from the everyday world! Be sure to visit the website for Soundview Bed & Breakfast, make your reservations and let them know that Cruising America made the recommendation!
UPDATE TO OUR REVIEW: The B&B is now owned by Annie & John. Their guests enjoy their privacy and flexibility to fix whatever they like for themselves for breakfast - they stock the kitchen with a wide variety of breakfast food. To us, this sounds like a winning deal as well....the view from the deck is fabulous....what a great place to start the day!
