After a beautiful drive through the Virginia countryside, we arrived at Walnut Hills. The entire camp was alive. There were kids biking, playing volleyball, on the jungle gyms, on the slides and swings, in the pool and fishing.
A calm, rolling stream runs through the tent area and empties into the campground lake that was the center of activity and viewing.
The "door greeter" at the registration office is "Richard Kimball" - a fugitive turkey who escaped his certain demise when he fell off the slaughter house truck. He wandered into Walnut Hills and has been there ever since.
The trees, bridge and scenery are enough, but to top it off, this park is state of the art! Being at Walnut Hills is like being in a hotel with no walls.
The camp store is well stocked and your hosts Steve and Karyn are truly some of the Shenandoah Valley's best!
Walnut Hills RV Park has their own Domain complete with campground and area events and attractions and much more! Be sure to stop by when traveling through the Shenandoah Valley and tell them we said "HI!"
